Nyx leads the way while Lunafreya attends to Regis who is badly injured. As they make their way, Regis lets go of Lunafreya's hand then summons a magical wall to bar her path. The scene is all too familiar to Lunafreya.

LUNA: No! Please! Stop!
NYX: Get back!
LUNA: Please, don't leave us!
REGIS: I know your mother would wish the same as me. That you and Noctis live happily. All those years captive because I failed you. Not again. Locked doors will seal your fate no longer.
LUNA: King Regis...
REGIS: Our hope goes with you now, Nyx Ulric. Godspeed.

A rumbling signals something is coming, and Nyx pulls Lunafreya away from the magic wall. After the elevator drops, Glauca appears, bowing before immediately launching into an attack against Regis. The king resists him as best as he is able, firing off magic, but Glauca is able to overpower him easily.

GLAUCA: Behold the king of Lucis, who hoarded tranquility within his precious walls. Where is your tranquility now, king? Here is your peace, by steel's swift descent.

Swiftly, Glauca drives a sword through Regis while Lunafreya runs to the wall, Nyx trying to pull her back again. Glauca even forces the sword further, howling, while Regis tells them to go. He dies standing on his feet, crumpling once pushed over by Glauca. Nyx readies a blade, but Luna immediately stops him, "No, we must get away from here. It is what your king wanted." The two quickly flee the scene together.

• Glauca really had an axe to grind with the king, damn.


• Who is this Nyx guy? What connection does he have with Regis?


• She definitely left him to run away while she was taken captive, and that has not sat well with him for awhile.
