In this instance, it is not Ardyn that requires aid. I have given him boundless compassion and concern, but there are others who also deserve such care.

Alexander, you speak as if you pity him.

Am I not allowed to be upset and concerned about the circumstances that made him? You've seen him without his memories. You cannot deny how his isolation changed him.

What was done cannot be erased in months. Truly, I wish this was not the case.

I am not condoning some of his worst actions, but if you want him to heal you will need to give him more time.

Do you wish for him to return to how he was? Following that same path? I cannot imagine that he will ever wish for it himself.

Aera did not task me with healing him. She begged me to stop him, and that much is in my power.

'Tis an impossibility for him to be as he was.

And for a moment discard what Aera wants, the line of Lucis, or anyone else for that matter.

Then, why do you speak of his suffering? He is forever changed as is everyone that he has come in contact with, the very world itself. It can never be erased.

Then his goals and yours align. I do believe it will run its course if you let it, but it will not be without it mishaps.

He never will be, not unless it is his choice to be. You and I are sure to see to that.

Those mishaps are the lives of others. So long as he and I live within the same realm, he must understand that he can no longer cross that line.

Do you care about him, Glacies? Truthfully.

Then I ask, as you plan and plot, that you do not break what remaining hope he has in others.

He is not so weak, Alexander, but I will consider your request.

Weak or strong, he does not deserve to suffer it. Though neither do those who he may or may not have hurt deserve it either.

But this gets us no closer to breaking the cycle. And perhaps for that there is no solution.

It will not continue. This much I can swear to, Noctis, Ardyn, and I are the last to be pawns in the machinations of gods.

Truly do I wish you luck on that.

But swearing will do you no good. Even the best of intentions can fall flat.

As I have often been made aware of, but I will not fail in this.
